Staff, Parents, and Students: Monday, April 3, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m. VBHS will be conducting its MOCK DUI at the Van Buren County High School Auxiliary Gym. Due to this, there will be a presence of Law Enforcement Officers and EMS personnel who will be using lights and sirens on campus during this time. We wanted to send this message to let everyone know the plans for this event in preparation of our Junior/Senior prom next week. Any student who parks at the Auxiliary Gym parking lot will need to park in the back of the High School on Monday morning. If you have any questions, please notify the VBHS office at 931-946-2442. Van Buren County High School competed in the Tennessee FAFSA Challenge to increase FAFSA completion numbers and has been named a FAFSA Champion School!
We finished the FAFSA season with 94.5% of seniors filing a completed FAFSA! By filing the FAFSA our students become eligible for many federal and state grants.
Archery practice for Thursday (3/2) is canceled. We will not be attending the tournament on Friday due to not enough people make a team.

These guest speakers are helping students build foundational knowledge of career opportunities available to them in the future!

This week, February 6-10, 2023, is National School Counseling Week. Van Buren County High School is blessed to have a wonderful School Counselor available for our faculty, staff, and students in grades six through twelve. Today, we celebrate Ms. Sahara Hall for all of the hard work that she provides daily to everyone at VBHS. We are so thankful for you and appreciate you!
SOFTBALL TRYOUTS:
Attention, high school girls interested in playing softball, there will be one last tryout on February 10th from 3-4:30 in the elementary school gym. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to try out, please see Coach Woolard to make other arrangements. Remember to wear tennis shoes, bring a glove and no denim jeans.
The VBHS Top 10 Seniors for the graduating class of 2023 will be recognized at tonight's home basketball game against Red Boiling Springs. The games begin at 5:30 p.m. with the recognition ceremony taking place between the girls' and boys' games. Come out tonight and support our VBHS Eagles and the hard work of these dedicated seniors.
REMINDER: Parent Teacher Conferences will begin this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and last until 7:00 p.m. Any parent/guardian in attendance tonight will have the chance to enter a free drawing for a "Eagle Spirit Basket. The Junior Class will be having a Soup/Chili meal in the VBHS Cafeteria the duration of the conferences. Meals can be purchased for $7.00. We appreciate your continued support and hope to see many in attendance!
Attention VBHS Juniors: The Junior class will be hosting the chilli/soup dinner at PTC today, February 2nd. All Juniors will need to drop off food items at VBHS from 2:00-2:30 and arrive by 2:30 to help. Thank you!
