It's volleyball time in Van Buren!
We are excited for the return of students to Van Buren County High School this coming, Monday, August 8, 2022! Like in years past, the doors to VBHS WILL NOT open until 7:30 a.m. The school day for Middle School Students, Grades 6th-8th, begins each day at 7:50 a.m. The school day for High School Students, Grades 9th-12th, begins each day at 8:00 a.m. Student schedules will be available for pick-up Monday morning in the VBHS Front Lobby. Faculty, Staff, and Administration are looking forward to a tremendous school year with the fantastic students of VBHS!
The SPIN (Student & Parent Information Night) for the class of 2023 will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 5:15pm in the VBHS Auditorium during the VBHS Open House. Seniors and their parents please make plans to attend!!
At this time, Senior Paint Day is still on for this coming Saturday, July 30, 2022. We will continue to monitor the weather for that day and make other determinations closer to start time. We do advise those participating to bring a canopy tent, if possible, to place over his/her parking spot in the case it begins to rain throughout the day. With the 2022-2023 school year quickly approaching we wanted to communicate some important information concerning upcoming activities. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, Van Buren County High School will be hosting an Open House event. This event will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. This gives all students and parents an opportunity to meet teachers and tour our school. In conjunction with this event, the Back to School - School Supply Give Away will be taking place at the VBHS Auxiliary Gym for the duration of the Open House. Sixth-Grade Orientation will be this same night, Tuesday, August 2, 2022, beginning at 4:15 p.m. in the VBHS Auditorium. Following this, Senior "SPIN" Orientation will begin at 5:15 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing VBHS students and parents and excited to begin this upcoming school year!
Good Afternoon! This contains several different important messages so please read it in its entirety. Middle School supply lists have been uploaded to the school website at https://www.vanburenschools.org/o/vbhs. High School teachers will communicate needed supplies to students on their first day of classes. As you begin shopping for back to school clothes please be mindful of the dress code policy in place in the student handbook. Shorts/skirts and holes in jeans/pants CANNOT be more than 3 inches above the knee. Shirts must cover the midriff area completely. If leggings are worn they must be accompanied by a shirt/dress that appropriately covers all areas. Students found in violation of the dress code can be asked to change and/or a parent can be contacted. If you have any questions, please contact the High School office at 931-946-2442. ATTENTION SENIORS: This is a reminder that Senior Paint Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 8:00-2:00. Please make sure you have all necessary supplies such as brushes, paint, painters tape, and trash bags. Items you may consider are a canopy tent and folding chairs. The only paint that can be used to ensure the painted design stays is water based exterior latex paint. The rain date for this event is Saturday, August 6, 2022. If you have any questions, contact the High School office at 931-946-2442.
Any VBHS students grades 8-12 interested in playing golf for the 2022-2023 school year will need to attend a meeting at VBHS on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10:00am in the high school front office.

Class of 2023 do not forget to turn in your VBHS Senior Paint Day Forms by this Friday, June 10, 2022 to the VBHS front office.
Attention all juniors and seniors, tomorrow is graduation day! All juniors and seniors need to be at school by 7:45am for practice, on Friday May 20th. Everyone needs to bring the shoes you intend to wear for graduation night and be in the gym ready to start at 7:45. Thank you and have a great evening.
Any senior attending the trip to Pigeon Forge tomorrow Wednesday May 18 needs to be at school by 6am. All attendants must abide by school dress code and wear your gray class of 2022 t-shirt. Remember to bring money for lunch, souvenirs and or shopping. Anyone not at school by 6am will not be permitted to attend. Hope everyone has a restful night and see you bright and early in the morning.
There will be Cross County try-outs this Tuesday, May 17, 2022, for any student who will be enrolled in grades 8-12 next school year. Try-outs will be at the VBHS Baseball field from 3:15 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Please wear proper attire.
Middle school girls’ basketball tryouts will be Friday, May 13 from 3-4:30 in the high school gym. Girls must be dressed in proper basketball attire.
