🎉 Happy National School Counseling Week! 🎉
📅 February 2–6, 2026
This week, Van Buren County Schools proudly celebrates our incredible school counselors who work every day to support, guide, and inspire our students. 🦅
We are especially grateful for Sahara Hall, counselor at Van Buren County High School, and Laura Carpenter, counselor at Spencer Elementary School, for the compassion, dedication, and encouragement they bring to our students and families.
School counselors truly amplify student success—academically, socially, and emotionally—and we are thankful for the difference they make across our district every single day.

Learning is more fun when imagination leads the way! ✨🎭
The students in Ms. Shelene’s room LOVE learning through play, and their absolute favorite center is dramatic play! Whether they’re pretending to be doctors, chefs, superheroes, or something totally made-up, their creativity knows no bounds. 🩺🍳🦸♂️
Watching them learn, explore, and grow through imagination is pure joy—because when kids play, magic happens! 💫

Last semester was full of hands-on learning! 🙌
Last semester Mr. Hall's 3rd block Sociology class took a field trip to the Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge. Students got an up-close look at the world of criminal justice—learning how to take fingerprints, analyze crime scenes, and describe suspects. They also explored historically famous criminals, cold cases, forensic analysis, and so much more.
It was an engaging, educational experience that really brought sociology and criminal justice concepts to life. So proud of these students and their curiosity! 🧠🔍
