MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL'S BASKETBALL TRYOUTS: Any girl in grades 6-8 interested in trying out for middle school basketball please contact coach Lakelyn Bouldin via text at 931-316-4830. Coach Bouldin will discuss the date and time of the tryout with everyone who contacts her. Please contact her by Friday July, 17.

GOLF TRYOUTS: Any boy or girl in grades 8-12 interested in trying out for golf please contact coach Drew Roberts via text at 931-703-9391, or email at droberts@vanburenschools.org. Coach Roberts will discuss the date and time of the tryout with everyone who contacts him.

If anyone would like to purchase a VBHS yearbook, there is a VERY limited amount still available. They will be available tomorrow, Friday June 19th from 8am- noon at the Van Buren Co. Board of Education. Cash or check made to VBHS for $70.

To any girl that will be in grades 5-8 for the 2020-2021 school year that is interested in trying out for middle school volleyball please text coach Sarah Hickerson via text at 931-808-3045. Coach Hickerson will contact everyone regarding try out dates and times.

Attention All Upcoming Seniors: This is a reminder to please turn in your parking spot design form to the VBHS office by next Monday, June 15, 2020 for approval. Thank you!

Middle and High school yearbooks can be picked up tomorrow, Monday June 8th from 2:15-5:15 on the back porch of the high school. Please park and walk up the back steps. A limited number of extras are available for $70. We accept cash or checks only. Make checks payable to VBHS.

Seniors and Parents: Joel Poston will be taking photos of all seniors as they cross the stage and accept their diploma from Mrs. Cole. These are pre-pay only. Prices and options are as follows: 5x7 print - $15 8x10 print - $20 Digital copy - $30 Seniors must bring their money at 4:30 and give to Mrs. Farmer in the front lobby. Checks need to be made payable to Joel Poston Photography.

Good morning, This is a clarification for dress attire for Juniors participating in the graduation ceremony this Saturday. The original message stated: "All juniors must wear dress/church attire. No blue jeans or work boots are allowed." This should be clarified to state that Juniors that still have their formal prom dress/suit/tux should still wear them as they traditionally do. If you do not still have your formal wear available then other dress attire (khakis, button-ups, dresses, etc.) will be acceptable.

Senior students and parents, this is a reminder that Graduation Caps, stoles, cords, and information about graduation and pocket diplomas can be picked up on Monday, June 1st from 9 am to 12 pm on the back steps of the high school. Any fees owed to the school must be paid first before these items can be picked up. Also if you have not been in contact with a Senior Sponsor to give them the names of your four guests, please contact Ms. Cassandra Binkley at 931-316-9270 at your earliest convenience. You will have until noon on Monday, June 1st to let sponsors know who your four guests will be. Thank you!

Any boy or girl that will be in the 8th-12th grades next year and would like to try out for the Van Buren County High School cross country team will need to contact Dusty Ragland by May 29th. Tryouts will be held Monday, June 1st at the high school baseball field. Those interested will need to schedule a time on that date to tryout with Coach Ragland. This message is for any girl that is interested in trying out for the high school girls' basketball OR volleyball teams: A sign-up form has been sent via your school email to fill out. If you did not receive it then you may sign up in person tomorrow, May 19th, when you pick up your report card. As soon as we have an idea of numbers we will be in contact with everyone to set up dates for tryouts.

SENIOR PAINT DAY - Senior Paint Day for parking spaces has been tentatively set for Saturday, August 1, 2020. Juniors will receive a packet of information tomorrow in the school pick-up line to fill out with guidelines and a form that must be filled out, signed, and turned in to be approved by school administration. This form can also be found on the high school website at https://5il.co/fmbc .

Are you looking for a way to honor the Van Buren Co. Class of 2020? At this time, there are 29 seniors at VBHS who have not purchased a yearbook. If you're interested in sponsoring a senior, you may drop off a check or cash for $70 at the high school front office on Monday, April 27th or Thursday, April 30th from 8am-2pm. Class of 2020, The Van Buren County Youth Association is excited to announce that for the second year in a row we’ll be awarding a $500 scholarship this year to a deserving senior. To be eligible for our scholarship you must have participated in the VBCYA program at some point during your school career. While not the deciding factor, special consideration will be given to applicants with more years of participation in VBCYA, and who are interested in a career centered around helping young people. Proof of registration at the beginning of the 2020 fall term to the institution of their choice is required to receive the check. Please email your completed application to Dustin Sullivan at sullivand1@vanburenschools.org by April 24th. Applications will be looked at & judged by members of the VBCYA board.

The VBHS FFA and Agriculture Department would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of those who supported us by purchasing plants. We had a large turnout and all were sold. We appreciate your support during this uncertain time!

SENIOR CAP & GOWN PICTURES: We know that your senior year of high school is an important and meaningful time. We would like to still try to honor this senior class as much as we safely can. We have decided to have your cap and gown pictures made this Thursday, April 16th by appointments. Due to photo lab closures, we are offering a digital print release for $30. You will receive a digital copy of the image and will be able to go and make prints on your own. Here are the following instructions regarding Thursday’s pictures: - Parents must remain in the vehicle outside. Only the senior may enter the building. -Enter through Coach Sullivan’s outside back door. -Boys need to bring a button-up shirt and tie. It does not have to be white. We can provide one for you if you do not have one. Please call and let us know. - All caps, gowns, stoles and sashes will be provided for you to wear. -There will not be a makeup day for these photos. Please make every attempt to be at school on Thursday, April 16th. - If your assigned time does not work for you, please call (931) 946-0166 and let us know if you will be coming at a different time. Photos will end before noon. If you need a ride, we will come get you.
