Today, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, our 2026–2027 VBHS Principal’s Advisory Council gathered for their very first meeting of the school year!
This dedicated group features student representatives from every grade level (6th–12th) who were nominated by our faculty and staff and selected through careful consideration. The council is led by Senior Anya Brewer, our 2026–2027 Student Advisory Member to the Van Buren County School Board.
During today's meeting, these student leaders focused on:
🔹 Evaluating the current VBHS school climate
🔹 Brainstorming growth opportunities to better support and serve our student body
🔹 Planning strategies to boost student involvement in major upcoming school and district events, including Red Ribbon Week, our Veteran’s Day Program, the Middle School Fall Dance, and the High School Winter Formal!
Thank you to each of these incredible students for stepping up, sharing their perspective, and being a champion voice for all VBHS Eagles! 🦅❤️💛

Today, we are especially grateful for Mrs. Jan Walter, Literacy Coach, and Ms. Teresa Roberts, Math Coach!
While Mrs. Jan and Ms. Roberts provide valuable support to our teachers in their designated content areas, they both go above and beyond in the ways they serve our school. They willingly step outside their primary areas to support our Science and Social Studies teachers, collaborate with colleagues, share ideas, and help teachers navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with educating our students.
More than simply providing instructional support, Mrs. Jan Walter and Ms. Teresa Roberts are encouragers, problem-solvers, collaborators, and champions for our teachers. Their willingness to invest their time, knowledge, and heart into the work of others makes a meaningful difference at VBHS.
Thank you, Mrs. Jan and Ms. Roberts, for all that you do each day to support our teachers and help our students SOAR! 🦅
We are incredibly fortunate to have you both on our team! ❤️💛
